The Old Oak Vineyard is part of the Paso Robles Willow Creek District and features 21 acres of organic, dry-farmed grapes of 11 different varieties. The vineyard sits above 1300 feet and features heavily calcareous soils.

Vaccarèse is one of the rarest grapes in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, with just over 10 acres planted there and a mere one acre here at this site. As far as we know, this is one of two vineyards in North America that grow this grape. We are always thrilled to work with this rare and unique variety!

This is our favorite and most striking vintage of this varietal yet, in part due to these relatively new graftings beginning to develop greater character.

In 2024, the Vaccarèse spent 14 days on the skins with 50% whole cluster inclusion.  After fermentation, the wine was pressed and aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months. A mere 24 cases produced!

Tasting notes: orange peel, clove, red licorice, fig molasses, marjoram, umami

organic / dry-farmed / native yeast / unfined / unfiltered
