The 2020 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah comes from two different sites within 1 mile of each other located in between the towns of Solvang and Santa Ynez: the Pace Vineyard and Valley View Vineyard. Both sites benefit from afternoon breezes and cold nights to help retain acidity and balance the bright, warm, sunny days that grace the Santa Ynez Valley. The Pace vineyard is organically farmed by Ryan’s father and wine industry veteran, Randy Pace.

Our 2020 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah underwent a native yeast fermentation with 35% whole cluster inclusion and 5% Viognier. The wine spent 14 days on the skins before being gently basket-pressed and then transferred to neutral French oak barrels to age for 9 months before bottling without fining or filtration in June 2021.

The 2020 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah features notes of black pepper, violets, and olive brine, all lifted by a bouquet of bright red fruit. These flavors carry through to the palate and finish with a thread of long-lasting tannins.
