And the result of this one is a truly singular wine!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Falanghina grapes come from Calleri Vineyard—a remote 50-acre, organically farmed site planted in 1994 in San Benito County by the pioneering Siletto family. This more inland site can get quite hot, but drastic diurnal swings from coastal air flowing from Monterey Bay help to significantly cool this site overnight.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFalanghina originates from the Campania region of Italy and is prized for its ability to endure heat while retaining loads of acidity, which perfectly suits the conditions at Calleri.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 2024, we destemmed these grapes and fermented on the skins for 10 days—landing on what for us is a sweet spot of introducing intriguing aromas and structure, while still maintaining varietal character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter pressing, the wine was aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels.
